What is "Candice Bakes"?
Hello, my name is Candice and Candice Bakes is a sole proprietorship company set up to provide pastry workshops, in French and English, in Sainte Marguerite in the Vosges area. I'll be welcoming you to offer classes and small-group activities in my workshop, located on the ground floor of my home. See you soon!
Why "Candice Bakes"?
Since I was a kid, I've had a passion for baking and bringing joy to people through cakes. The priceless expression on someone's face when they're thrilled to indulge in a delicious cake is truly special. My main goal is to elevate moments in life with delightful desserts. Sharing is really important for me. Since pastry-making is a craft that involves passing on knowledge, the concept of workshops just felt like a natural fit. Being connected with people, sharing, valuing quality ingredients, and bringing joy are all values that define me and are inherent to the art of pastry-making.
And before "Candice Bakes"?
With a Master's degree in specialized translation (English and Italian), I began my career in the United States, as a project manager in a translation and medical training agency in Atlanta.
After several fulfilling years, I made the decision to dive deeper into the world of pastry-making, enrolling in Anais Hody's CAP Pâtisserie course in 2020 (a French professional certification in pastry arts). I was lucky enough to take part in highly formative internships with Philippe Conticini in Paris and Pâtisserie Kamm in Sélestat, and graduated in June 2023. Subsequently, I set up Candice Bakes with the goal of conducting pastry workshops and sharing my love for crafting delicious and visually appealing cakes.
